Fossatún Camping Pods
The camping pods are sleeping bag accommodations.
If you do not have a sleeping bag, a bedlinen package can be rented. Bedlinen should be left in the pod on departure.
2nd key – opens kitchen houses, changing rooms and private (holy) shower.
Service house outdoors for bathrooms and changing rooms should always be unlocked.
Parking for cars is beside the pods.
Think of a pod like a luxury tent with all the coziness, warmth and space you don´t get in tents. The price for renting a pod comes up when you click the booking knob on this page and also a Troll10 voucher code that gives extra discount not available elsewhere. Age limit for reservation is 20.
All the pods are insulated and heated, which means: although they are not houses, they still are suitable for the Icelandic winter, warm and nice. However electricity is limited and not for high electricity use equipment. All pods have table, chairs, bench & a bed and mini fridge. All pods have access to bathroom facilities, two kitchen/dining houses, outdoor BBQ (guests have to bring their own coals) showers and hot tubs and WiFi. Fossatún Camping Pods are a sleeping bag accommodation, 60% of guests bring their own sleeping bags or bedding. If guests do not have sleeping bags, a bed linen package of: duvet, pillow, sheets and towel, can be rented. Price pr. person of bed linen package is for stay not pr. night i.e. same price of bedding for 3 nights and 1 night. 80% of pod guests stay for 2 nights or more. Price per person is 1300 ISK if ordered in advance but 1500 on check in. Staying in a pod is a suitable solution for guests who search for good basic and reasonably priced accommodation with access to well equipped kitchen and sanitary facilities. Nice hikes in the beautiful surrounding scenery plus a central location in the West Region of Iceland to go from on day trips in different directions, makes Fossatún an ideal destination. Standard Camping Pods. The standard pods are for 2 adults. They have a double bed (140×200 cm) and a bench. Extra person can stay in standard pod for extra charge. Twin Pod Cottages, have two separate beds (80×200 cm) for two adults. They are cottage shaped with seating area terrace at the entrance. Family Camping Pods 3 have a double bed (140×200 cm) and a full size single bed 90×200 cm. Family Camping Pods 4 have a double bed (140×200 cm) and two single beds (80x 200 cm).
Breakfast is optional – a nice buffet at Fossatún Restaurant. Restaurant is seasonally open for dinner. In winter reservations must be made.
Check in 16-20 from 15th May t-o 31st October AND 15 –19 from 1st November to 14th May.
