Camping Pods. All the pods are insulated and heated, which means: although they are not houses, they still are suitable for the Icelandic winter, warm and nice. All pods have table, chairs, bench & a bed. All pods have access to bathroom facilities, two kitchen/dining houses, outdoor BBQ, showers and hot tubs.
Fossatún Camping Pods are a sleeping bag accommodation, (60% of guests bring their own sleeping bags or bedding. If guests do not have sleeping bags, a bed linen package of: Duvet, pillow, sheets and towel, can be rented. Price pr. person is for stay not pr. night: 1300 ISK if ordered in advance but 1500 on check in. 80% of pod guests stay for 2 nights or more. Staying in a pod is a suitable solution for guests who search for good basic and reasonably priced accommodation with access to well equipped kitchen and sanitary facilities, social interaction with other guests, nice hikes in the beautiful surrounding scenery plus a central location in the West Region of Iceland to go from on day trips in different directions. Standard Camping Pods. The twelve standard pods are for 2 adults. They have a double bed (140×200 cm). Seven of them (nr. 11-17) have a seating/pull out bench that can easily be extended into an extra bed (70×200 cm) for an extra adult and also the inside can be used as storage space. The other five standard pods (nr. 4,5,8,9,10) have a seating bench. Twin Pod Cottages, have two separate beds (80×200 cm) for two adults. They are cottage shaped with seating area terrace at the entrance.
Family Camping Pods have beds for 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 or 2 children depending on age. They are 50% bigger ((14,5m2 instead of 9,5) than the standard pods and twin pods. Family Pods have a double bed (140×200 cm and a single bed (90×200 cm) in the special room.
