The camping pods are sleeping bag accommodations with access to good communal facilities
Check in hours are 16:00 – 21:00 from 15th May to 31st October AND 16:00 – 20:00 from 1st November to 14th May.
We advise our guest to check in early and enjoy the facilities and nature at Fossatún.

Please be aware that from 15th June -15th August approximately – a new immigrant no see ums mosquito – is active all over Iceland. Do not leave windows or doors open in still weather situation. The pods have air-condition tube with protection screen net.
Beds have bedsheet and cushions. If you do not have a sleeping bag, a bedlinen package can be rented. Bedlinen should be left in the pod on departure.
Access is to good communal facilities, well prepared kitchens and sit down areas, hot tubs, outdoor BBQ (bring own charcoals), bathrooms, changing rooms, showers, House of Fun. – 2nd key – opens Kitchen houses, House of Fun, and private (Holy) shower.
Access to washing machine and dryer for charge.

Kitchen houses and House of fun open: 06:00 – 13:00 and 17:00 – 23:00 – Hot Tub open: 17:00 – 23:00 – Bathrooms and showers open 24/7.
Parking for cars is beside the pods.
Stores are in Borgarnes town – 18 km .
Fossatún is centrally located and ideal to travel from to the most interesting places in West and South West of Iceland.
Think of a pod like a luxury tent with all the coziness, warmth and space you don´t get in tents. The price for renting a pod comes up when you click the booking knob on this page and also a Troll10 voucher code that gives extra discount not available elsewhere. Age limit for reservation is 20.
All the pods are insulated and heated, which means: although they are not houses, they still are suitable for the Icelandic winter, warm and nice. However electricity is limited and not for high electricity use equipment. All pods have table, chairs, bench & a bed and mini fridge.
Fossatún Camping Pods are a sleeping bag accommodation, 50% of guests bring their own sleeping bags or bedding. If guests do not have sleeping bags, a bed linen package of: duvet, pillow, sheets and towel, can be rented. Price pr. person of bed linen package is for stay not pr. night i.e. same price of bedding for 3 nights and 1 night. 80% of pod guests stay for 2 nights or more. Price per person is 1500 ISK if ordered in advance but 2000 on arrival day.
Staying in a pod is a suitable solution for guests who search for good basic and reasonably priced accommodation with access to well equipped kitchen and sanitary facilities (yes, there is hair dryer in woman’s changing room). Nice hikes in the beautiful surrounding scenery plus a central location in the West Region of Iceland to go from on day trips in different directions, makes Fossatún an ideal destination to stay at and travel from. Standard Camping Pods. The standard pods are for 2 adults. They have a double bed (140×200 cm) and a bench. Extra person can stay in standard pod for extra charge. Camping Pod Duo is also a standard pod, but bookable for minimum of 2 nights for better price. Twin Pod Cottages, have two separate beds (80×200 cm) for two adults. They are cottage shaped with seating area terrace at the entrance. Family Camping Pods 3 have a double bed (140×200 cm) and a full size single bed 90×200 cm. Family Camping Pods 4 have a double bed (140×200 cm) and two children beds (80x 180 cm).
Breakfast is NOT included, but available at Fossatún Restaurant. Breakfast buffet price is 2500ISK per person if reserved in advance, 3000ISK per person is the walk in price.
Restaurant is seasonally open for dinner. In winter reservations must be made.
